Call for Participation
By design, StorageNetworking.org is an open grass roots organization that provides ample opportunity for collaboration between end users and all industry segments, including:
Please review these opportunities carefully. By supporting this initiative you are supporting the many end users who are committing their time and effort to creating data storage educational opportunities in their own communities via Storage Network User Groups (SNUGs).

If you would like more information on ways that your organization can participate in the StorageNetworking.org initiative, please contact Ron Durbin at rdurbin@ucsd.edu or 858-534-4034.

STORAGE SYSTEM VENDOR COMPANIES

Currently, storage system vendor companies (and all other organizations) are invited to participate as follows:
  • As SNUG Meeting Speakers — The SNUG Speaker Directory is a free resource for SNUG organizers who are searching for presenters. Vendor company representatives and all "knowledge experts" who are willing to provide educational presentations are encouraged to list themselves in the SNUG Speaker Directory.

  • As SNUG Meeting Food/Drink Sponsors — Meeting organizers will recognize the sponsors in meeting announcements and at the meetings themselves. In some cases, food/drink sponsors may also present, but there is no requirement that sponsors speak or that speakers sponsor. That would have to be negotiated with the local SNUG. To sponsor one or more meetings, contact the SNUG founders or Ron Durbin at rdurbin@ucsd.edu or 858-534-4034

  • As SNUG Meeting Hosts — If a vendor company has a suitable facility and would like to offer it as local SNUG meeting place, please feel free to contact the SNUG founders.

  • As SNUG Promoters — Vendor companies are encouraged to notify their customers in a given area of the existence of the local SNUG and, where appropriate, promote its upcoming meetings.

  • As StorageNetworking.org Sponsors — The initiative is funded by charitable gifts from corporations who wish to support data management education by participating in the StorageNetworking.org Sponsor Program. To learn more about this program, contact Ron Durbin at rdurbin@ucsd.edu or 858-534-4034.

SYSTEMS INTEGRATORS/VARs

In addition to the previously described vendor company opportunities, systems integrators/VARs are invited to participate as follows:
  • As SNUG Co-founders — A systems integrator/VAR representative is eligible to be one of the three minimum co-founders (as long as the other two are end users). Learn more about SNUG formation guidelines.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMPANIES

In addition to the previously described vendor company opportunities, education and training companies are invited to participate as follows:
  • As SNUG Co-founders — An education and training company representative is eligible to be one of the three minimum co-founders (as long as the other two are end users). Learn more about SNUG formation guidelines.

  • As StorageNetworking.org Portal Contributors — The StorageNetworking.org online resource portal is creating a free directory of commercial data storage end user educational opportunities. This listing will enable end users to better locate the professional education they need. If you are interested in listing your educational offerings, please contact Ron Durbin at rdurbin@ucsd.edu or 858-534-4034.

UNIVERSITIES AND NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

In addition to the previously described vendor company opportunities, universities and other non-profit organizations are invited to participate as follows:
  • As StorageNetworking.org Affiliates — Universities and other non-profit organizations can join in promoting this initiative to their local communities. In return, StorageNetworking.org will publicize affiliate activities that target data storage end users. For more information on our affiliate program, please contact Ron Durbin at rdurbin@ucsd.edu or 858-534-4034.

  • As SNUG Co-founders — University and other non-profit organization representatives are eligible to be one of the three minimum co-founders (as long as the other two are end users). Learn more about SNUG formation guidelines.

  • As StorageNetworking.org Portal Contributors — The StorageNetworking.org online resource portal is creating a free directory of university data storage end user educational opportunities. This listing will enable end users to better locate the university and university extension courses they need. If you are interested in listing your educational offerings, please contact Ron Durbin at rdurbin@ucsd.edu or 858-534-4034.
